Somnuek’s Wentletrap

The above photograph (taken by Somwang Patamakanthin in his home aquarium, Rawai Beach, Phuket Island, Thailand) is of a female Serrepifungium patamakanthini A. Gittenberger & E. Gittenberger, 2005 named in honor of Somwang’s father Somnuek..
The specimen is on a group of her eggs (all were returned to The Andaman Sea following their photo session). The species occurs in Madagascar, the Maldives, Thailand, the Philippines and from Indonesia to Palau where it feeds on corals.
